NTSB wants to lower BAC limit to .05

Tuesday the NTSB recommended states lower the drunk driving BAC limit from .08 to .05.
Officials say the move would save nearly 1,000 lives a year.
"Impairment starts with the first drink. By .05 most drivers experience diminished visual function, increased drowsiness and reduced vigilance," said Doborah Hersman, NTSB spokeswoman.
The NTSB is making the recommendation, but it is up to each individual state whether it wants to follow the recommendation.
