Nuclear power plant closed due to leaky valve

COVERT, Mich. -- ABC57 was told operations are returning to normal at a local nuclear power plant that had to shut down because of a leaky valve.

The Palisades Nuclear Plant is near the Berrien and Van Buren County lines.

It had to shut down temporarily after a leak was detected in the system that cools the reactor.

The power plant says crews spent most of the weekend working on it, and expects it to be back up and running soon.
