ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. - The SOURCE, an Oaklawn initiative based out of Elkhart County, is connecting Spanish speakers in the community to health-related resources through a new video series, “Por Nuestra Salud.”
The series, which translates to “To Our Health,” showcases local agencies that support community members who primarily speak Spanish.
Such agencies include The Boys and Girls Club, La Posada Immigrant Act, Oaklawn and more.
Each of the 21 videos are in Spanish and run about 15 to 20 minutes long.
“The health of a community reflects the health of its families. Elkhart County is an amazing place to live. Nonetheless, we know that some families face cultural and linguistic barriers, as well as information inaccessibility. Por Nuestra Salud (To Our Health) is an attempt at breaking barriers and addressing the informational void some families face,” said José Elizalde, The SOURCE Coordinator for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
Videos drop every Tuesday, starting with the first two on September 19 and 26.

"Por Nuestra Salud" is a project created by The Goshen Chronicles and The SOURCE, Elkhart County’s group of community partners who work together to support mental health in residents from birth to age 21.
