October declared 'Make A Difference' month

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Make A Difference Michiana is officially declaring October as “Make A Difference Month.”

Make a Difference Michiana is encouraging members of the community to donate a few hours of their time to a local nonprofit organization in the month of October.

Volunteer opportunities can be found listed on their website:

MDM uses this website in collaboration with over 350 local agencies from seven area counties in order to provide a one stop experience for those seeking information about local nonprofits.

In years past, a specific day in October was chosen as a “Make A Difference Day,” but MDM recognizes the busy schedules and time constraints that burden the lives of community members.

Therefore, MDM is asking that individuals simply find a few hours out of the entire month of October to volunteer their time with a local nonprofit organization that needs their help.

Make A Difference Michiana is an organization with the mission to connect the resources of the community with non-profit organization of Michiana.
