October is Adopt a Shelter Dog month

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- October is Adopt a Shelter Dog month and the Humane Society of St. Joseph County is celebrating with reduced adoption fees.

The adoption fee for adult dogs over one year old is $50 all month long.

Every dog at the shelter is spayed/neutered, updated on basic vaccinations, microchipped, tested for heartworm, and given preventative treatments for fleas & heartworms.

Any adopters can subscribe to a free month of pet insurance.

After you submit your application you will need to wait until the application is processed.

After it is processed and adoption specialist will contact you to discuss what sort of dog would be best for your family and your lifestyle.

They will set up an appointment for your family to meet pets in the shelter.
