Officials search Lake Michigan for missing woman

Indiana Conservation Officers continue in a search for a woman who went missing on Lake Michigan on Friday.

Conservation Officers and other emergency personnel responded just after 7:00 p.m. Friday to Porter Beach.

Onlookers in the area were able to rescue two struggling female swimmers in the water before officials arrived.

20-year-old Chase Froese of Illinois disappeared from sight during rescue.

Officials utilized a Remote Operated Vehicle with sonar and video capabilities to help search for Froese.

Conservation Officers suspended the search Friday until Sunrise on Saturday where the Porter Fire Department is conducting a shore-based search through morning hours.

Indiana Conservation Officers were assisted this morning by the United States Coast Guard and Porter Fire Dive Rescue.

She is still unaccounted for following a search by water, land, and air.
