Roads in Bremen reopen following oil spill

BREMEN, Ind. -- There were several road closures in downtown Bremen on Thursday while crews cleaned up an oil spill.

Town officials said a garbage truck was leaking hydraulic fluid, but was not aware of the leak until after approximately 15 blocks.

Crews shut down Plymouth Street between Marshall and Center streets and Center Street from Plymouth to the railroad tracks so the fluid could be cleaned up.

Sand was put down on the roadway to absorb the oil.
