Troopers identify victim of single-vehicle crash in Marshall County

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- Indiana State Police identified the victim of a single-vehicle crash on U.S. 31 Monday afternoon.

Troopers identified the victim as 35-year-old Caleb Ingram of Rochester.

Around 4:30 p.m., troopers responded to calls of a vehicle crash on US 31 near 4A Road.

The preliminary investigation indicates a white 2013 Dodge was going northbound on US 31 when it went to the right off road for unknown reasons and struck a concrete bridge abutment.

Troopers tried to save the life of the driver but he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Neither drugs nor alcohol are suspected to be factors in the crash.

An autopsy is scheduled at the Marshall Forensic Center for later this week.
