PLYMOUTH, Ind. – Ed Savage was honored in Plymouth Tuesday at the Catherine Kasper home for his service during World War Two.
Savage fought in a battle on the Aleutian Islands in Alaska, where Japanese troops had invaded U.S. soil.
“I’m fortunate I’m still here, I’m fortunate I made it through the service, and I’m fortunate I’m still alive at my age,” Savage said.
Savage was honored at the Catherine Kasper home by veteran volunteers who presented him with a plaque and two pins to show appreciation.
The volunteers were joined by many residents of the Catherine Kasper home to watch Savage receive his awards.
