One injured in Cass County crash Tuesday morning

CASS COUNTY, Mich. – A driver was injured after sliding down an embankment and striking several trees, authorities say.

Cass County officials were called to a crash on Gumwood Road near Redfield Street at approximately Nov. 20 at 11:09 a.m.

An initial investigation revealed that 18-year-old Alexis Roseboom was traveling south on Gumwood Road when she lost control of the vehicle, leaving the roadway and striking several trees as the vehicle slid down an embankment, officials say.

Roseboom was transported to Memorial Hospital for unknown injuries.

Authorities say seatbelts were worn and alcohol is not a factor in the crash.

Niles Township Fire Department and Southwest Michigan Community Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
