CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- One person injured after a snowmobile crashed on Topash Street near Townhall Road in Silver Creek Township.
According to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 5:00 p.m. Saturday Mikel Matthews, 64, was traveling eastbound on Topash when he was hit by a snowmobile.
Allegedly, Matthews was hit by Joseph Vantuyle, 63, of Dowagiac who was operating the snowmobile.
Officials say Vantuyle had failed to yield at a signed intersection of the snowmobile crossing.
Vantuyle was transported to Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital for minor injuries.
Helmets and seatbelts were worn and alcohol does not to be a factor.
Sister Lakes Fire and Pride Care ambulance assisted the Sherriff’s Office.
