One killed in accident on US 12 near Edwardsburg

EDWARDSBURG, Mich. -- One person was killed in an accident on US 12 involving a semi and a pickup truck.
The driver of the pickup truck, Jon Stone, was killed.
The driver of the semi was injured and taken to the hospital.
According to the Cass County Sheriff's Department, Stone was at the intersection of US12 and Five Points Road and failed to yield to the semi, which was traveling westbound on old M205.
Stone's passenger, Donald Bardo, was taken to Elkhart General Hospital.
Deputies said alcohol was not a factor and Stone was not wearing a seatbelt.
