One man airlifted for injuries following Cass County accident

CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- The Cass County Sheriff’s Department responded to an accident on Lawrence Road early Sunday morning.

The call came in at 1:49 a.m. regarding an accident on Lawrence Road near Marcellus Highway.

The 23-year-old driver, Terance Hartzell, was heading south on Lawrence road when he left the roadway to avoid an animal--losing control and hitting a tree.

Hartzell was airlifted to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo by AirCare.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor and the accident is still under investigation.

Assisting agencies were PrideCare, AirCare and Wayne Township Fire Department.
