One man is dead after his moped collided with a Chevy Tahoe Wednesday morning

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- The Berrien County Sheriff's Office responded to a fatal collision between a car and a moped at the intersection of Bainbridge Center Road and Territorial Road in Bainbridge Township around 7:19 a.m. Wednesday morning. 

"Preliminary investigation indicated that a Moped driven by a 44-year-old male out of Eaton County Michigan was driving south bound on Bainbridge Center Road and failed to stop for a stop sign," the BCSO said. "The moped was struck by a gray Chevy Tahoe traveling east on Territorial Road driven by a 47-year-old female out of Benton Harbor."

The driver of the moped was pronounced dead at the scene and both the driver and passenger of the Chevy were uninjured.

This collision remains under investigation by the Berrien County Sheriff Office Crash Investigation Team," the BCSO said. "The driver of the moped was not wearing a helmet at the time of crash, and it is unclear at this time if drugs or alcohol were a factor."
