One person dead, two vehicle crash on State Road 23 near Fir Road

St. Joseph County Officials have confirmed one person is dead and six others are injured after a two vehicle accident on State Road 23 and Santa Monica Drive near Fir Road.
The call about a head-on collision came in at approximately 4:03 p.m.
Police say a car slid into the path of a van traveling east on State Road 23.
The six people injured are said to have suffered minor injuries.
The road has reopened.
