One person injured in a Niles shooting

NILES, Mich. -- Chief Jim Millen of the Niles Police Department confirmed that a call came in at 9:59 p.m. on Friday for a shooting near Seventh Street and Poplar Street that injured one person.

Police say one adult man of Niles was found with two gunshot wounds at the scene.

It is not clear how severe the injuries are, but police say they do not appear to be life threatening.

Police say the victim was transported to a hospital for treatment and is being questioned by officers.

There is currently no information on the suspect(s) involved in this shooting.

It is also unclear if this shooting happens to be related in any way to the shooting that injured a 15-year-old on Poplar Street on Monday.
