One person injured in Elkhart crash Friday evening near CR5

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind.--A two-vehicle accident sent one person to Elkhart General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Friday night.

It happened on County Road 5 at approximately 5:26 p.m. Friday evening.

Police say a 2000 Buick Lasabre was traveling southbound on CR5 when it ran into the back of a Direct Lines Communications utility truck that was parked facing south with its hazard lights on.

The 85-year-old man who has not been identified suffered minor injuries.

Authorities say the cause of the crash was due to an object in the roadway.
