One person sent to the hospital after a crash on US 20

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office reports that one person was sent to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash occurred on US 20 at approximately 1 p.m. on Monday.

Near East County Line Road, one vehicle was traveling east and one vehicle was traveling west on US 20 before one of the vehicles crossed left of center to cause a collision, officials say.

The driver of the eastbound vehicle was transported to Elkhart General Hospital for injuries sustained during the crash, officials say.

Officials say that because of conflicting statements from both drivers and inconclusive evidence at the scene, officers were unable to issue a citation for the crash.

With no witnesses present during the crash, both drivers claimed that the other vehicle crossed left of center, officials say.
