One person shot in Elkhart Sunday

ELKHART, Ind. – One person was shot in Elkhart on Sunday night, the Elkhart Police Department reported.
At 8:22 p.m., an officer heard the sounds of gunfire in the area of Marion Street.
Officers searched the area and collected evidence.
An officer was told by dispatch that the victim was at the hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the lower extremities.
No arrests have been made.
This investigation is ongoing.
