Driver cited and taken to hospital after two-vehicle crash

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of C.R. 14 and S.R. 15 around 11:57 a.m., Thursday.

The report states a 2018 Chevrolet Cruze, driven by 37-year-old Tiffany Johns of Syracuse, was traveling north on S.R. 15 south of C.R. 14 while behind a 2021 Toyota Tacoma, driven by 28-year-old Michael McPherson.

Deputies say McPherson had slowed down or stopped to turn left to go west onto C.R. 14.

The report states Johns was following too closely and struck McPherson's rear-end, causing heavy damage to both vehicles.

Johns was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for ankle and finger injuries, along with a bruised stomach.

She was also cited for following too closely.

McPherson had complaints of head pain but was not taken to the hospital.
