Over 1,000 job seekers show up to Kroc Center
SOUTH BEND, Ind. –- Hundreds of people lined up in South Bend, hoping to land a job at the new Kroc Center!
The Salvation Army held a job fair Friday afternoon.
More than 100 part-time jobs were available, with everything from fitness, to food, to maintenance.
The Kroc Center expected about 600 job seekers on Friday.
You can imagine their surprise when more than 1,000 people showed up!
"We are absolutely overwhelmed right now with the number of responses that we've had. Did not anticipate this many, but excited that we'll get to pick the best of the best to come work in the Kroc Center," said Major Robert Webster of the Salvation Army.
The Kroc Community Center is scheduled to open by the end of January.
