Overnight traffic stop leads to discovery of stolen vehicle and meth

LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. – An early morning traffic stop on State Road 9 led to the discovery of a stolen vehicle and the arrest of that vehicle’s driver.

According to the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department, deputies stopped a minivan with a stolen license plate on State Road 9 near County Road 300 South just after 3:30 a.m.

A search of the vehicle stolen from Elkhart allegedly uncovered meth, paraphernalia, and legend drugs.

The driver, 63-year-old William Gilson of Elkhart, was arrested on drug-related charges and auto theft. He was booked in the LaGrange County Jail.
