Owner of an Elkhart pizzeria announces he's leaving

ELKHART, Ind. -- The owner of an Elkhart pizza place announced he is leaving.

Darren Cornell posted a message on Facebook saying: 

"With a sad and heavy heart, I've come to this decision. We've lost a more customers than I had hoped. But the business can't sustain itself any longer without drastic change."

Last month, vandals smashed the restaurant's door and spray painted an offensive message on the building.

Cornell is a registered sex offender.

His business partner, Dan Cordes,  will take over the business.
