Pair of South Bend road projects set to disrupt traffic this week

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- On Monday, the City of South Bend announced two road repair projects will be beginning on Tuesday, Aug. 6, and impacting traffic for multiple days this week.

According to city officials, Angela Boulevard, from Michigan Street to Leahy Drive, will be milled and resurfaced with asphalt.

"The street will remain open but with restrictions," officials said. "Due to traffic lanes shifting throughout paving, motorists should expect delays. Paving is expected to be completed by Saturday, Aug. 10, weather permitting."

Also starting on Tuesday, Prairie Avenue, from Webster to Oliver streets, will be closed for water connection work.

"The detour route for residents will be Bruce Street via Webster and Oliver streets," officials said. "The truck route detour will be Olive and Sample streets. Prairie Avenue is expected to reopen end of day Thursday, Aug. 8, weather permitting."
