Panera recalls cream cheese after positive Listeria results
Your favorite flavor of Panera cream cheese may have been recalled Sunday after samples of the product tested positive for Listeria.
According to the company, there have not been any reported illnesses but officials still wanted to issue a voluntary recall out of caution.
The affected products are the 2-ounce and 8-ounce cream cheese products with an expiration date on or before April 2nd.
Flavors of recalled cheese include plain, reduced-fat plain, chive and onion, honey walnut, and wild blueberry.
“Only one variety of 2-oz cream cheese from a single day yielded the positiveresult. Our intent is to go above and beyond for our guests," said Blaine Hurst, Panera President and CEO.
According to company officials, tests have shown negative results since the recall.
If you have the product at home, you are asked to discard the cheese and call Panera’s customer service line at 1-855-6-PANERA (1-855-672-6372).
