Parents accused of abandoning 6-year-old child

A 6-year-old’s parents were arrested after allegedly abandoning the child for 28 hours without the necessary support, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.
Nicholas Escobedo, 29, and Lara Escobedo, are facing preliminary charges of neglect of a dependent.
