Parents upset that Notre Dame did not call about illnesses during sports camp

NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- Some parents said that the university e-mail just wasn't enough to let them know about the more than 100 kids who were stricken by a gastrointestinal illness during Notre Dame's summer sports camps for teens.

ABC 57 News spoke to one man who said he learned of the outbreak when his son sent him a text message from the hospital.

Jim Bruen, the upset parent, said he expected more from Notre Dame.

He told us he spent $500 for his 14-year-old to go to camp and spend the night.

He thinks someone should have called him at the very least.

ABC 57's Ashley Izbicki reports.
