PAW PAW, Mich. - The Paw Paw community is mourning the loss of one of their own after a firefighter died after coming into contact with a downed power line Wednesday, according to ABC13.
Ethan Quillen, a husband and father, died overnight following the incident, which took place in the 42000 block of 30th Street.
Quillen had been a volunteer at the station since 2019.
The Paw Paw Fire Department set up a GoFundMe for Quillen's loved ones, particularly his wife and young daughter, and described him as selfless, kind, loving, hardworking and more.
"On February 22, 2023, a beloved husband, father, son, friend, marine, and dedicated firefighter lost his life in the line of duty," reads the GoFundMe. "He lost his life serving those that he swore to protect and serve. Firefighter Ethan Quillen will always be remembered for his endless love for his wife and daughter. For his love for his country and his community. Ethan was selfless, kind, loving, hard-working, and so much more. This go fund me is being set up to help support his wife and daughter throughout this unexpected tragedy. Please pray for comfort for all those who knew and loved Ethan."
