SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- When we think spring, we think flowers!
Downtown South Bend’s May First Fridays were all about welcoming spring and warmer weather with the theme of ‘Pedals and Petals’.
Over on the Gridiron was the celebration of the flower petals; complete with a plant sale and swap, flower craft activities, and flower arranging classes.
With gardening season quickly approaching, seeds for fruits and veggies were available as well to help folks begin their summer gardens.
What else comes with warmer weather but the opportunity to get out and ride your bike around town!
The bike pedal activities were all to preview Michiana Bike to Work Week next week.
There were bicycle games and safety demonstrations, a bicycle parage, and of course the biggest of all, the new Jumpoff trolley making its debut Friday in downtown South Bend.
Overall, it was an exciting time to be out and enjoy the the nice weather we’ve all been waiting for!
“We’ve had some, especially in the past week, some really crazy weather and I think we’re all excited to get out of the house and enjoy the sunshine,” says Senior Director of Marketing and Events for downtown South Bend, Kylie Carter. “So this is a really great opportunity to get out and have some fun downtown in this beautiful weather.”
