Pedestrian hit south of downtown South Bend

SOUTH BEND — A man was hit by a car Thursday night just south of the downtown area.

According to dispatch, the accident happened on Michigan Street near South Street, right by the Transpo station.

Police responded to the area around 6:31 p.m.

ABC 57 is still working to find out the extent of the man's injuries.

I thought "smart streets" were supposed to be more pedestrian friendly... All they do is delay everyone and make drivers impatient trying to get through the backed-up mess. Massive fail.
