Penn High grad dies in freak accident
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana University had a moment of silence for 20-year-old Linden Whitt. She fell from her second story balcony early Friday morning. Her best friend, Tiphani Seniff was there.
“Her neighbor was sitting on the balcony and he started falling so she tried to grab him and I guess with the weight of him she fell too and he ended up landing on top of her,” Seniff said.
Whitt suffered severe spinal cord injuries from the fall.
“They told us that if she did make it, she would be a paraplegic,” Seniff said.
“People were worried that she wasn’t going to make it and I thought Linden would because she is so strong,” said high school friend Claire Guy.
But after eight heart attacks in the hospital, she didn’t make it. Guy said she couldn’t believe it when she heard the news.
“I was in complete shock. I just could not believe someone so young could just pass away that quick," Guy said.
She and Seniff say they can’t imagine why such a terrible accident happened to someone so sweet.
“She was the one you could come and talk to when you were having a bad day,” Guy said.
“She was beautiful inside and out,” Seniff said.
