Person pinned between two SUVs in Elkhart County driveway Wednesday

ABC 57

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- One person was sent to a local hospital Wednesday afternoon after they got pinned between two vehicles in a Wakarusa driveway.

Authorities say A 2015 Buick SUV was parked in the driveway of a residence in the 29000 block of C.R. 40, in Wakarusa, preparing to back out around noon on July 16.

That's when a 2021 Ford SUV pulled into the driveway to drop an item off at the house.

The driver of the Ford stepped out of the SUV, but the driver of the Buick did not see them.

"[The driver of the Buick] did not notice [the Ford and the driver] was behind them in the driveway and reversed into [the Ford], pinning the driver between the two cars," the ECSO said.

"The crash caused damage to the rear end of [the Buick] and the front end of [the Ford]. [The driver of the Ford] sustained an injury to the hand and legs during the collision."

They were treated on the scene for their injuries by Wakarusa Emergency Services and transported to the hospital for further treatment.
