Peru couple arrested after three-year-old tests positive for meth

MIAMI COUNTY, Ind. – A Peru couple is facing multiple charges, including neglect of an independent, after their three-year-old daughter tested positive for methamphetamine and fentanyl, the Indiana State Police said.

After a criminal investigation, troopers arrested Bryon Parsons, 54, and his wife Breanna Parsons, 29, of Peru, Ind. on criminal charges including neglect for a dependent, possession of a syringe, possession of heroin, possession of methamphetamines and possession of drug paraphernalia, troopers said.

Miami County Division of Indiana Department of Child Services requested an investigation to be started, which led to the emergency removal of the three-year-old.

Further investigation provided a search warrant by the Miami Superior Court II for the Parson’s home, according to the report. During the search, officers allegedly found methamphetamine, heroin, a syringe and drug paraphernalia.

Both are currently being held at the Miami County Jail, troopers said.
