Photos on display for kids who need a loving foster home

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Photos of children who need adoptive families are now on display in South Bend.

Thursday, their pictures were placed in the windows of the Healthworks Kids Museum.

The exhibit is called the heart gallery, and it’s put on by the Indiana Department of Child Services.

The exhibit is trying to raise awareness about the 300 Hoosier children currently in foster care.

"It has been effective, I believe since 2007 there have been thousands of children that have been adopted because of this gallery,” said Heidi Trenerry of the St. Joseph County Department of Child Services.

The pictures will be on display through Oct. 6.
