Pick-up truck slams into utility pole, causes power outage

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – AEP restored power to a South Bend neighborhood left in the dark after a pick-up truck slammed into a utility pole.
The crash happened late Wednesday night on South Mayflower. Police tell us the pick-up driver fell asleep behind the wheel before crashing.
Fortunately, that driver was not hurt, but crews were forced to shut off power in the area while utility crews repaired the damage.
