Plan for spooky fun this Halloween with Zoo Boo

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Potawatomi Zoo will be hosting Zoo Boo again this year despite the pandemic, and has taken extra precautions to make sure all those ghosts and goblins can get candy and spooks while staying safe.

Zoo Boo this year will be happening October 23 and 24 from 4 to 8 p.m., October 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and October 29 and 30 from 4 to 8 p.m.

The last admission for each Zoo Boo day is a half hour before close.

Those that want to attend have to buy a timed entry ticket or reserve a time in advance on the Zoo’s website.

“We’re proud to keep building on a long tradition of having a safe trick-or-treating event at the Zoo every year. With some of the health and safety restraints, we have made a few changes, but we are still excited to decorate the Zoo for this event that has candy, riding the train and carousel, and of course, seeing the animals,” said Josh Sisk, executive director of the Potawatomi Zoo.

This year the Treat Trail is in the Picnic Grove and will be $3 per person. Each ticket will grant a bag of treats at the end.

Costumes are encouraged for the whole family, and masks are required for anyone age 8 and up when inside a building or outside when social distancing isn’t possible.
