SOUTH BEND, Ind.—Plans are underway for the second Recover Michiana Fest, an event meant to advocate for people battling with addiction by bringing awareness and resources together.
While the fest isn’t until September 20, the organizers are hosting community meetings at Innovation Park at Notre Dame, located at 1400 East Angela Boulevard, starting February 26 from 5:30-7 p.m.
At the meetings, community members can learn how they can get involved.
Alicia Brown, chair of the Recover Michiana Fest, said the event is a big part of local efforts to break the stigma of addiction.
“We bring people who are in recovery so that people know what recovery looks like,” Brown said. “It’s an opportunity to celebrate recovery.”
The second event will be held at Howard Park. Visit Recover Michiana Fest's website for more information.
