PLYMOUTH, Ind. -- Plymouth Community School Corporation announced Plymouth High School math teacher Ryan Rust was honored with the Lifetime Educator Excellence Award at the 2024 Educational Excellence Gala, hosted by the Indiana Department of Education on Sept. 6.
School officials say the award recognizes an educator with over 16 years of experience who has demonstrated a deep commitment to professional growth and the development of their peers.
Officials say Rust exemplifies those qualities by engaging in professional activities beyond the classroom, embracing feedback, and utilizing data to enhance instruction and support all students.
As part of the award, Rust was given a check for $2,500.
