Plymouth man arrested after predator exposure group catches him trying to meet up with 13 year old

Marshall County Jail

PLYMOUTH, Ind. -- The Plymouth Police Department has a man behind bars on charges of Child Solicitation after a child predator exposure group tipped them off last month.

Authorities say 42-year-old Larry Edward Charlton was attempting to meet up with a juvenile he met on Grindr who he knew to be 13 years old.

Plymouth PD say they got the call around 1:49 a.m. on May 6 and were sent to the area of Michigan Street, near the McDonald's for report of a male who had attempted to meet up with a juvenile.

A car matching the description of Charlton's was spotted and pulled over just north of Hoham Drive.

"I then spotted a vehicle to the south of us near Hoham with male standing next to it," the arresting officer wrote in their report.

"I assumed this was the individual who called 911 to report the incident."

The man was with the Big Country Predator Exposure group and had attempted to confront Charlton when he showed up at the apartment of the fictional juvenile.

The man told authorities he was posing as a 13-year-old boy on Grindr, met and chatted with Charlton, and had arranged a meeting where Charlton expected to have sexual contact with the juvenile.

After police saw the conversation and heard a recorded phone call with Charlton, he was arrested and booked in the Marshall County Jail.

He is charged with felony Child Solicitation.
