Plymouth schools take part in the Project Adam Advisor for Indiana
PLYMOUTH, Ind. -- Three schools in Plymouth took part in the Project Adam Advisor for Indiana. These schools include Riverside, Menominee Elementary, and Plymouth High School.
They announced that Plymouth Schools have achieved the Project Adam heart safe designation, the first in Marshall County and the 77th in Indiana.
This project, crucial after a student's death from sudden cardiac arrest, emphasizes the importance of being prepared for emergencies including, CPR and AED usage and also highlights the need for schools to identify and address weaknesses in their emergency response plans, as emergencies can occur at any time, not just during school hours.
"I think a lot of schools depend on a school nurse, an athletic trainer, or a specific group of people to respond, but an emergency. Can happen in any situation." Says Tonya Aerts, Program Advisor for Project Adam, Indiana. "So what about after school, during a sporting event, during the Christmas concert, things like that, they can start looking at just to be prepared."
The program aims to equip staff and students to respond effectively in various situations, promoting preparedness beyond traditional responders like nurses and athletic trainers.
