Plymouth woman killed in Friday morning crash

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana State Police say a woman was killed at US31 and 4A Road when she pulled into the path of an oncoming vehicle.

According to investigators, Alice M. Garner, 86, was driving east on 4A Road and was attempting to cross US31.

Witnesses told police for some reason, Garner stopped at the intersection, but pulled out in front of a Jeep.

The driver of the Jeep suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Garner suffered head injuries and was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Plymouth.

She later died from her injuries.

Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.

Police say the roads were snow and ice covered at the time of the accident but said they did not appear to be a factor in the crash.
