The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi and its Four Winds Casinos gave out about 1,000 different meals throughout Michiana, to help get the community ready for the holiday season.
The lines were long, but volunteers were ready and excited to greet the community.
Scott Rice, Four Winds-South Bend General Manager, stated, "It's a great opportunity for us to give back to the community that maybe is a little less fortunate during the holiday season... to see the families come in and get these kids that come with them. The little treat that we give the kids when they pull in, it's nice to see a smile on everybody's face for the holidays."
It's their ninth year of giving out boxed meals.
They say it's something the staff really looks forward to doing to give back to the community each year.
