Two injured after a motorcycle and car crash in South Bend
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – South Bend’s Fatal Crash Team (FACT) was called to a motorcycle and car crash on Michigan and Ireland Road.
St. Joseph County Dispatch confirmed the call came in around 2:19 p.m.
FACT and other emergency units were at the scene after a report of an intersection collision.
South Bend Police said a large group of motorcyclists were at a red light, northbound on Michigan Street. A white car was
heading eastbound with a green light.
The driver of the motorcycle was unable to stop, causing a collision.
SBPD will investigate the motorcycle to see if the crash was caused by mechanical issues.
All three were taken to the hospital as protocol.
The driver of the motorcycle has a serious leg injury, according to FACT officer Tim Spencer.
The passenger of the motorcycle has non life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the white car was taken to the hospital as protocol, officials said.
