Police: Armed robbery suspects used toy pistol

The St. Joseph Department of Public Safety is investigating an armed robbery where the suspects used a toy pistol to steal the victims' iPhone 6 Plus so they could sell it and use the money to start on online business.

The St. Joseph Department of Public Safety was called to Lions Park Drive late December 3 to investigate an armed robbery.

During the investigation, they learned the three suspects lured the victim to another location where they assaulted him, threatened him with the toy pistol and took the victim's iPhone.

The suspects knew the victim and police were able to quickly identify the suspects.

They allegedly confessed and said they wanted to sell the iPhone and use the money to start an online business.

The victim sustained minor injuries and did not require treatment.

The case has been turned over to the Berrien County Prosecutor's Office.
