Police conducting animal cruelty investigation after dead dog found on school property

Mishawaka Police are asking for the public's help in a recent animal cruelty incident after a dog was found fatally injured Monday.

Police said they were called on Monday afternoon to Emmons Elementary, 1306 S. Main Street, after a small dog was found fatally injured.

Police say an unknown person entered the locked school grounds and fatally injured the dog.

The person got inside a locked gate, but not inside the school.
