Police: Gun involved in custody dispute at Three Rivers park

THREE RIVERS, Mich.—A suspect was arrested after pulling out a gun during a custody dispute at a park, according to the Three Rivers Police Department.

On September 20, around 1:21 p.m., officers were called to Scidmore Park for a report of a man with a gun and a possible kidnapping.

Once at the park, officers, along with deputies with the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office, learned the incident stemmed from a child custody dispute.

One suspect was arrested on charges including a concealed carry violation and felonious assault, police said.

Assault and battery charges are being sought for other parties that were involved in the incident through the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office.
