Police install prescription drug drop box for unwanted medicine

A permanent prescription pill drop box has been installed in the lobby of the South Bend Police Department.

The secure drop box is a safe way to dispose of unwanted or expired prescription drugs.

The drop boxes should only be used for pills, tablets or dry powders, not liquids or creams.

You should place the drugs in a sealed bag or container before putting them in the drop box.

The box was purchased with a grant from the Partnership for Education and Prevention of Substance Abuse.
