MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- Police in Mishawaka are investigating a pedestrian-involved crash that happened on North Main Street.
Dispatchers say the call came in at 8:10 p.m.
One person has been taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
According to witnesses, a car allegedly tried to hit protesters at the Boycott The 4th event happening at Battell Park.
“He was talking on his cellphone, we were asking him to stop, yelling at him to stop and he just decided to keep going not only through one more line of protesters but again the additional one at faster speeds,” witness Alex Holston said.
Officials say the alleged suspect has been taken into custody for questioning, but the investigation is still ongoing.
