Police investigating shooting after victim drives himself to hospital

South Bend Police say they are investigating a shooting in the 500 block of North Walnut Street.

According to police, a 33-year-old man came into Memorial Hospital around 12:45 p.m. Thursday with what police believe to be non life-threatening wounds.

Police believe the man was shot shortly before then on North Walnut Street.

Police also believe the man drove himself to the hospital after being shot. 

Because this is an active an ongoing investigation, Captain Robert Hammer of the South Bend Police Department says police cannot release any further information at this time.
