Police investigating shooting, vehicle crash in Three Rivers

THREE RIVERS, Mich. -- Three Rivers Police are investigating a shooting that happened inside a car on US 131 Monday afternoon.

Police arrived to the scene around 3:30 p.m. and learned the passenger in a crashed vehicle had accidentally shot himself in the leg.

Officers applied a tourniquet and he was transported to the hospital for treatment.

There were three unsecured handguns in the vehicle, along with marijuana and packaging, police said.

The case will be reviewed by the prosecutor's office.
